Job Description This is a para-professional position, responsible for clerical functioning of the office.
Position interacts with the Court system, law enforcement, private attorneys, and the general public daily.
The position provides clerical support to the District Attorney, and requires specialized skills and knowledge acquired only through experience and/or formal training.
Work originates from Price County business establishments, the general public, and from other governmental agencies.
Position requires only general supervision with work reviewed mainly in terms of error-free operation.
This is a full-time position with a starting hourly wage of $20.
39 (Grade E) and full benefit package.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - · Knowledge of legal drafting procedures and requirements (Blue Book).
· Knowledge of Callaghan’s Wisconsin Reports and use of the Law Library.
· Knowledge of criminal justice system, criminal procedure and the role of law enforcement personnel.
· Knowledge of general office procedures, filing systems, computer software including word processing, internet software, electronic mail, PROTECT, EXCEL and CCAP.
Skilled use of typewriter, photocopier, fax machine, dictation equipment, calculator, personal computer and other office machines and/or equipment.
· Knowledge of proper English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
· Knowledge of general accounting and/or basic bookkeeping procedures.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality within and outside of work.
· Ability to prioritize work assignments and organize in logical manner.
· Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to accurately transcribe written and oral materials.
· Ability to effectively communicate with the public in a respectful manner.
· Ability to maintain and reconcile financial accounts.
· Ability to complete detailed work accurately and timely and without supervision.
· Ability to keep accurate records and documentation.
Additional Information Minimum requirements for this position are: High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to keyboard/type at least 65 wpm with 8 or less errors.
Associate degree from an accredited paralegal program or legal secretary program or equivalent.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing clerical and paralegal support to a court function, district attorney, law firm, or criminal justice setting.
Three (3) years computer experience including Microsoft Word and database management.
Prefer experience with PROTECT and CCAP systems.
Must be able to prioritize job duties and have exceptional organizational skills.
Must be able to prepare and maintain accurate records.
Ability to make skillful, coordinated movements of one or two hands and/or one or two fingers (manual & finger dexterity).
Ability to frequently lift 20 pounds.
Ability to frequently bend/crouch to perform filing.
Possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license and access to reliable vehicle, insured to county-required limits.
The selection process for this position may include an employment history evaluation, a personal interview, pre-employment physical including drug screening, required skills testing, and a Department of Justice criminal background check.
