LANGLADE COUNTY JOB DESCRIPTION DEPUTY REGISTER IN PROBATE/DEPUTY CLERK OF JUVENILE COURT Department: Clerk of Circuit Court Reports to: Clerk of Circuit Court Grade/Wage: Grade 17, $19.
00 to $23.
00 FLSA Status/Hours: Non-Exempt, 40 Hours per week Revised: 6/2023 *Summary:* Responsible for assisting the Register in Probate/Clerk of Juvenile Court in the management and coordination of the juvenile and probate of the Langlade County Circuit Court.
Responsible for providing support services to participants using the judicial system by receiving, filing and maintaining documentation essential to create and preserve the official court records of Langlade County.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
The following duties are normal for this position.

* * Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
* Clerk court hearings, maintain detailed court records, and mark and manage exhibits.
* Assist with scheduling court interpreters, Probate & Juvenile hearings * Assist the public with pro se’ filling of juvenile guardianship, CHIPS, and juvenile injunction.
* Process invoices, collect fees, forfeitures, and restitution.
* Maintain records of wills admitted to probate.
* Electronically record and file all formal and informal proceedings and file State documents.
* Conduct file searches and record searches including genealogical requests.
* Appoint indigent counsel and guardian ad litem upon the direction of the court and pursuant to Statute.
* Provide backup coverage to the Office of Corporation Counsel on processing under Chapter 51of Wisconsin Statutes.
* Other duties as assigned.

_ *Education and/or Experience;* Technical or Associates’ degree in legal secretary, paralegal, or significant legal secretary or paralegal work experience in lieu of a degree.
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* * Ability to exercise discretion in maintaining the confidentiality of judicial proceedings.
* Knowledge of legal terminology.
* Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
* Ability to learn moderately complex procedures.
* Ability to recognize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision.
*Technological Skills:* Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
