Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Parts Department Manager to oversee the operations of our department.
The Parts Department Manager will be responsible for managing inventory control systems, supply chain management, demand planning, shipping and receiving, warehouse management, and logistics.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a proven track record in effectively managing a team.
We are looking for someone with previous dealership experience.
Duties:
- Assist technicians and customers in purchasing needed parts and supplies
- Track all incoming and outgoing parts for the dealership
- Oversee supply chain management activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation
- Package and ship parts back to the manufacturer from time to time and complete appropriate record keeping
- Refer to parts manuals to identify exactly the right parts for the make, model and year of the vehicle being serviced.
- Supervise operations, including organizing storage areas, managing inventory rotation, and implementing safety protocols
- Train and mentor team members on department procedures and best practices
- Utilize forklifts and other equipment as necessary to support operations
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and best practices
- Proficient in supply chain management principles
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures
- Knowledge in automotive parts is preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
