The *Manager of Husbandry and Operation*s provides vision and is responsible for overseeing the Living Collection, Husbandry practices, appearance, living collection and operation of all assigned exhibits and support areas.
This Assignments includes working in collaboration with the CEO, Senior Management, departments onsite and at shared services.
to provide proper husbandry for the living collections fish and corals; and collecting/participating in the sustainable management of the collection support tools, equipment, materials for the livestock.
The manager oversees and fosters a team environment for a diverse team of professionals.

( up to $500)* *Major Job Responsibilities* * Responsible for the supervision of the Husbandry and other staff and for overseeing the care and management of all the Living Stock.
* Ensure adherence to Federal, State, and local agency laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances, as well as meeting OSHA standards.
* Working with CEO, senior management, oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to living collection husbandry.
* Direct and develop a diverse staff of employees and promote/foster a team environment.
* Participate in the development and administration of annual operating budget, practices and protocols for the Husbandry department, procurement, practices and staff development.
* Procure supplies and equipment and make recommendations for necessary contractual services.
* Lead educational programs as required for training purposes (presentations, lectures, tours, media spots, etc.
).
Maintain close working relationship Shared Services expanded team to develop exhibits and programs.
* Occasionally travel on short notice and for extended periods as required to meet with other professionals of the company and external parties if required.
* Attend and participate in professional group meetings and conferences to stay up to date on new trends and innovations within the field.
* Works in collaboration with the CEO and top management to establish and maintain best practices based on industry standards to fulfil these major job responsibilities.
* Responsible for the daily care and husbandry of aquatic collections which include marine and freshwater fish, invertebrates, plants, and other aquatic accessories.
* Practices good judgment in decision-making as related to animal care, emergency situations, and projects, particularly in the with minimal interruptions to the other operations.
* Daily duties include but are not limited to cleaning systems internally and externally, prepping and feeding food, treating any injured/diseased individuals as necessary, making observations and recognizing abnormal fish behavior/appearance, acting upon/reporting such observations in a timely manner and completing all necessary records and paperwork thoroughly.
* Assists with acclimations and in veterinary procedures as necessary.
* Assist with procurement of supplies and equipment.
* Assists in the advancement and implementation of strategic goals by contributing to the design and management of the animal development.
* Serves as the main point of contact between aquatics staff and the CEO and senior management * Weekly accurate inventory and correct labeling on every tank * Correct placements based of Manual Shipment Feedback report * Manager packed orders * Assists with acclimations and in veterinary procedures as necessary.
· Supervises the staff to ensure the products are being packed and shipped, organizesand monitorsthe workflow, implements initiatives for salt watersection.
· Review daily water chemistry reporting and make corrections or adjustments as needed for all systems in the facility.
· Ensure water filtration, heating, cooling, and lighting systems are working properly.
· Oversee husbandry of all animals, which include fish, coral, and invertebrates to ensure their safety and well-being in the facility each day.
· Oversee and work with husbandry and warehouse staff to set weekly and monthly goals.
· Ensure shipping is completed accurately and on time.
· Oversee the acclimation and safe positioning of all inbound livestock to “best practice standards” developed and documented in operations procedures provided during training.
· Oversee the transfer and relocation of livestock in the warehouse prior to the arrival of inbound shipments.
Ensure high volume items are replenished quickly.
· Perform other duties as required or as assigned.
*Job Requirements* * MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Marine Science, or related field required.
* 5+ years minimum supervisory / managerial experience at a zoo or aquarium type facility.
* 10+ years in Husbandry role.
* Capable of running various aquatic tanks and collecting fish, as well as possessing a strong working knowledge of fish and marine invertebrate husbandry.
* Demonstrated knowledge of managing a diverse staff, budget preparation and control along with strategic planning for developing goals, projects, and assignments.
* Strong public speaking skills with ability to provide formal lecture and educational presentations.
* Strong organization and planning skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent written and oral communication essential.
Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include some weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.
