This position is primarily responsible for planning, implementing and supervising the daily activities of the preschool group and providing a safe and nurturing learning environment.
The preschool teacher should be warm and inviting as well as show care for each child while nurturing learning.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Accepts feedback given by Administrator or Center Director professionally without arguing.
Demonstrates ability to work effectively as part of an educational team.
Projects an image of professionalism, integrity and quality to families and caregivers as well as new employees
QUALIFICATIONS

*EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION*
18 years of age with high school diploma or its equivalent.
One of the following:
· Two courses for credit in early childhood education or its equivalent from an institution of higher education.
· Two non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education.
· One course for credit in early childhood education and one non-credit department-approved course in early childhood education.
· Certificate from The Registry indicating that the person is qualified as a child care teacher.
· A Wisconsin Preschool Credential.
· A Wisconsin Infant-Toddler Credential.
· Forty-eight credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent.
· A one-year child care diploma in child care or early childhood education from an institution of higher education.
· An associate degree in early childhood education or child care from an institution of higher education.
· A Child Development Associate credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition.
· A certificate from the department of workforce development, bureau of apprenticeship standards, as a child development specialist.
*EXPERIENCE*
320 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a licensed child care center or other approved EC setting.
